Coaching Table Tennis in Schools -- 2005
Development of a National Coaching structure in Schools
Dates: October 2003 - February 2004
Following the excellent relationship our association has with the Malta Olympic Committee, this season the MTTA has been granted the above captioned Olympic Scholarship and will benefit technical and financial support from Olympic Solidarity. The MTTA is therefore inviting you to attend a Coaching
Course leading to a coaching certificate recognized by the International
Table Tennis Federation. The course will be held at the premises
of the Malta Olympic Committee, Maria Theresa Spinelli Street ,
Gzira, commencing Sunday 12 th October 2003 and will be conducted by ITTF Expert Coach Mr. Dave Fairholm from Scotland.

The main theory issues that will be covered are:
- Introduction, coaching structure,
the role of the coach, equipment and fun games.
- The 7-point teaching principle.
- The 4 basic strokes.
- Corrective practices.
- Movement & combination.
- Serve & receive.
- Recovery & anticipation.
- Programme planning.
- The growing process.

We are very optimistic that the course shall prove very successful
and should this be the case, we shall also include an advanced
section for committed coaches.
