Table Tennis Gets Off To a Flyer
October 21, 2003
More than thirty eager MTTA coaches, teachers & students
attended an intense five day coaching education course at the University
of Malta in Gzira.
The course is part of an Olympic Solidarity project which the MTTA has been granted through the intervention of the Malta Olympic committee and funded by the International Olympic Committee. Mr. David Fairholm an International Table Tennis
Federation expert from Scotland conducted the course. This is David's
fifteenth International Olympic Solidarity development project
after recently completing similar courses in various parts around
the globe.
David said "This was a big five days and the blend of coaches,
teachers, students and also some national team players provided
the course with a perfect mixture to ensure good teaching and coaching
practise in a safe environment to take place all over Malta".
Schools both public & private will be targeted
over the next forthcoming weeks for a special educational demonstration
in Table Tennis.
Table Tennis is an ideal school sport as it is inexpensive, space
efficient and unaffected by weather.
The Malta Table Tennis Association is even offering equipment
where necessary to implement its programme especially in schools
where table tennis can be played after school hours. Interested
schools & teachers
willing to know more are to contact the Malta Table Tennis Association
on mobile numbers 99446916 - 99424382 or E-Mail jborgcar@keyworld.net
